10/4/2006 Starting in January 2007, The CUNY Institute for Software Design and Development (CISDD) will be offering free, hands-on, practical skills trainings classes to students from any CUNY four-year college who:
- have at least one semester remaining following the spring 2007 semester (summer session not included);
- have finished a majority of the required coursework for their program, and
- are interested in obtaining a paid internship, through CISDD, with a New York City government agency
These training courses are a great way to improve your skills, so don’t delay. Register now!

CUNY Convenes Second Annual Imaging and Visualization Faculty-Industry Meeting
4/19/2006 New York, NY April 17, 2006 (NYSIA HOTWIRE)—The CUNY Institute for Software Design and Development (CISDD) recently entered the world of 3-D technology commercialization, by hosting its second annual faculty-industry imaging and visualization event on April 4, 2006. The meeting, titled“3-D: University and Industry R&D Perspectives,” was funded by CISDD’s Partnerships for Innovation (PFI) grant from the National Science Foundation and held at the Graduate Center of CUNY.

NEW YORK, June 11, 2000 -- LaGuardia Community College, of the City University of New York, has been awarded a $600,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to develop a curriculum that focuses on new media and Internet technologies.
The curriculum, when it is launched next spring, will train some 200 students for entry into the work force as web masters, Internet programmers, web designers, and e-business analysts, said Dr. Lawrence Muller, program director.

CUNY and Silicone Alley Join Forces in New Software Initiative

NYSTAR Successes
1/15/2000 The City University of New York Institute for Software Design and Development (CISDD) received a NYSTAR Technology Transfer Incentive Program grant to work with several New York City-based early stage software companies to develop and/or improve their product lines. The specific goal of each software development project was the development and integration of linear regression, cluster analysis and data visualization modules into existing products.
CISDD worked with Syllogy to integrate the linear regression, cluster analysis and data visualization modules into a software system that allows users to specify complex selection and segmentation rules to large databases, primarily for marketing applications.
