Free Web Develop Training

Through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), CISDD will be offering technical training in Web Development to qualified individuals who are unemployed.

This 84-hour course takes the student with theoretical and background knowledge of programming to the point where they have real experience in the practical skills used in the development of a full-featured web application. Ajax, database connectivity, XHTML and design techniques will be covered as well as the tools used in the development and deployment of an application system. The course relies heavily on lab and project work throughout the curriculum and students should be prepared to research and apply new topics as they are covered in the development of their ongoing class projects.

Technical Prerequisites
Students are expected to have solid knowledge of the Java programming language and Object Oriented concepts including Inheritance, Polymorphism and Encapsulation and Java's implementation of these including the use of Abstract classes and Interfaces. Students should also have experience in basic HTML, including forms.

Additional Prerequisites

    1) Must be age 18 or older.
    2) Must be unemployed, or making less than $56,000 per year.
    3) Must be a citizen or legal/permanent resident of the United States and legally allowed to work in the U.S.
    4) Can not be a full time student or international student.
    5) Can not have used an ITA voucher in the past.

Mondays and Wednesdays 6-9:30pm
Saturdays 10am-2:30pm
**There will be no class on Saturday, July 1st or Monday July 3rd.**

About this course
As a result of the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA), this training is available for free to eligible participants by using an Individual Training Account (ITA). ITAs allow eligible New York residents to receive up to $2,500 worth of free training. This course is designed for individuals who are looking for full time work. At the end of the course, job placement assistance will be available.

Participants must meet eligibility requirements and register with a Workforce1 Career Center. CISDD will help participants through this process. Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis, and contingent on the ability to meet the prerequisites.
